I just finished a cleanse day and boy do I feel great. Tonight I was lucky enough to show up at the gym right as a yoga class was starting, so I kicked off my shoes, grabbed a loaner mat, and joined in. Let me tell you, yoga on a cleanse day is a very very good thing. Just like cardio, getting the oxygen flowing through with yoga on a cleanse day is very noticeable and wonderful.
On the business side of things, this weekend, I watched a video blog about network marketing and the guy said to "crunch the numbers." Basically, he was saying that you should know what it will take to reach financial independence with a company before you decide to make money with that company.
So I did the numbers. Now, I know that Isagenix pays a lot of bonuses (like how they give you $100 in the first week if you refer two friends on the 30-day system and how once you become an executive, you almost double your commission percentage and you can achieve all sorts of cool ranks that increase your income drastically as incentives; if you're interested, all 6 ways are here: http://marcybrooks.isagenix.com/us/en/sixways.dhtml,) but I decided to play it conservative and pretend that that stuff doesn't exist and calculate solely on an entry-level consultant's basic commission.
So here's what I figured out. Without all the monetary incentives and bonuses, one would need 833 associates underneath them ordering the minimum autoship in order to make an income of $5,000 a month (which is $60,000 a year). If I shared this product part time while I pursue my other interests and I signed up 5 associates every month, and then 1 out of every 10 of these associates decided to work part-time as well in the business and they duplicated my productivity, it would take me 13 months to reach this income level.
(I'm not considering the natural drop-out rate because it's more than a wash with the fact that most people buy almost double the minimum autoship each month)
13 months. That's not bad, considering my teaching salary was about that much income and it took 5 years to get there, plus 2 years of grad school, plus $65,000 in student loans. And they put a freeze on our salaries because of the state budget so it owuld never increase again. My Isagenix income stands to multiply each year exponentially if I stuck with it.
Since I want everyone I know to have the opportunity to be healthy, happy, and wealthy, I guess it's really no sweat off my back to stick it out for a year and see if I can find 1 out of 10 product users who will be as motivated as I am about sharing the product and the business with others. It's work, but it's fun work. Thank God for new opportunities that don't require you to be rich to get started (like acting- omg marketing yourself as an actor is expensive! Not to mention the training and everything else.)
